Stewart, BC – Decade Resources Ltd (“Decade” or the Company) announces that it has received results for the geochemical sampling at Silver Crown 6 property. Due to the lack of snow at lower elevations in the Stewart area in December 2018, the Company took the opportunity to carry out soil and float rock sampling on the property. Work was completed 5 km SE of the Red Cliff showings on the east side of American Creek. Mineralization encountered on east edge of the property consists of northwest trending vuggy quartz-calcite veins and stockwork which form a mineralized zone at least 1.5 metres wide that has been traced for at least 60 metres along strike. The zone contains galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and pyrite that form massive to semi-massive lenses, pods and stringers. Veins and stockwork constitute 10 to 40 % of the mineralized zone and the sulphide content varies from 10 to 100% of the individual veins. The 2018 work consisted of a soil line in a north-south direction topographically above the previous work. While soil sampling, rusty float rocks were collected and analyzed for metal content.
The Silver Crown 6 Property is in the Stewart area located within the “Golden Triangle” of northwestern BC. It is 8 km southeast of the Premier gold mine which has a long mining history. Texas Creek Batholith associated rocks; Jurassic age intrusions -193-195 Ma found near Stewart that also include the Mitchell intrusions at Kerr-Sulphurets-Mitchell have been identified nearby. These are related to mineralizing events in the Stewart area and Sulphurets-Mitchell valleys. This suite of rocks is associated with gold mineralization at Brucejack Lake, Premier gold mine-Silver Coin deposit and the Scottie gold mine as well as numerous porphyry copper gold occurrences. The Golden Triangle of British Columbia which is among the world’s most prolific mineralized districts, host to past and current mining operations including Eskay Creek, Scottie Gold, Porter – Idaho, Johnny Mountain, Red Mountain, Snip Mine, Premier Mine, Golden Bear and Valley of the Kings. The Golden Triangle has reported mineral resources (past production and current resources) in total of 67 million oz of gold, 569 million oz of silver and 27 billion pounds of copper. In the Premier area, a total of 667,000 ounces gold are indicated in 2,780,000 tonnes at 7.46 g/t gold for Premier, Big Missouri, Silver Coin and Martha Ellen zones. In the Premier area, a total of 1,390,000 ounces gold are inferred in 6,030,000 tonnes at 7.18 g/t gold for Premier, Big Missouri, Silver Coin, Martha Ellen and Dilworth zones (Ascot Website).
A total of 24 soil samples were collected and 12 rusty appearing float rocks on the tested hillside were sampled. Results indicate soil samples up to 0.133 g/t which is considered highly anomalous. In addition. rock samples from several locations yielded high or anomalous gold values. Results are as follows:
Location | Sample Number | Gold g/t | Silver g/t |
Soil Line | SC-18-30 | 266.6 | 138 |
Soil Line | SC-18-31 | 1.62 | 2.9 |
Soil Line | SC-18-32 | 0.64 | 2.0 |
All 3 samples had low lead-zinc values with Sample SC-18-30 having high bismuth values. Loring Laboratories of Calgary performed the analysis on the samples.
In the 2019 field season, the Company plans further sampling to locate the source of these rocks as well as evaluate the eastern part of the Silver Crown 6 property.
The Company is applying for the necessary permits to continue exploration on its 100 % owned properties which include the Premier East and Grassy properties in BC as well as the Crest property in Alaska.
